The focus of the conference is how to balance shareholder value creation and accountability towards multiple stakeholders.

Pre-Conference and Doctoral Consortium

September 1, 2017

The ICGS Doctoral Consortium provides an opportunity for doctoral students to get detailed and constructive feedbacks on their work by senior corporate governance scholars. Participants will discuss opportunities and challenges in the field from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. The consortium is open to both doctoral students who have completed approximately two to three years of their PhD program, and junior faculty not well experienced with publications in an international journal.

Conference

September 2-3, 2017

The International Corporate Governance Society will focus its 3rd annual conference theme on reviews of existing research streams and/or proposals for new analytical approaches, governance concepts, or theoretical frameworks on how to balance shareholder value creation and accountability towards multiple stakeholders. Of course, non-thematic submissions will also be considered. Due to our inter-disciplinary nature, we think of corporate governance in broad terms – those systems and mechanisms designed to channel corporate power for the well-being of society. As such, corporate social responsibility initiatives and the cultivation of ethical practices fit within our conceptualization of corporate governance.
