francesco-rullani Francesco Rullani’s research focuses on production of knowledge by self-organizing groups of actors. In particular, the dynamics of the incentives underpinning the work of a large number of volunteers, the organizational forms emerging from their interaction, the strategies used to manage resource in self-organizing communities, the sustainability and transformation of evolving networks, are the key issues he has been interested in. Francesco as explored these themes in the field of free/open source software, employing mainly quantitative techniques applied to large databases, but also theoretical elaboration and formal modeling. His research has been published in top journals in Innovation Studies, such as Industrial and Corporate Change and Research Policy, and in top journals in other fields, such as International Journal of Industrial Organization.
