Torrisi-Alfio Throughout his career he has held positions in academia, banking and industry. He has been Associate Professor in Economics and Finance at the University of Naples, the University of La Verne (California -USA), the John Cabot University (in Rome), the LUISS Guido Carli University, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore; Senior Economist at Banco di Roma and FIAT Holding (Turin); Chief Economist at the Institute for Industrial Reconstruction (IRI), in Rome. From 1990 to 2000, he was Chief Economist and Senior Executive Vice President/Assistant to the CEO at IRI Holding, the largest public conglomerate in Italy. In this capacity he was directly involved in the implementation of IRI’s privatisation programme which, over the period 1992/99, contributed to give Italy a firm leadership in Europe. In February 2000 he joined the “Italian Stationary Office and Government Mint” (IPZS), as Senior Executive Vice President of the “Marketing and Business Development” Division. In 2002, he was named Director of the “Planning &Budgetary Control” Division; as Senior Executive Vice President he has headed the Planning Division until 2014. Throughout this period he has also been member of the board in all the companies participated by IPZS and professor of Corporate Finance at the Universities “LUISS Guido Carli”, and “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore”, in Rome. He is presently Business Consultant and Adjunct Professor of Corporate Finance at LUISS University and LUISS Business School.
He has authored or co-authored numerous publications focusing on Strategic Alliances and Industrial Policy, Financial Management and Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Companies’ Ownership Structures in the major four European Countries. In these areas of research he has been guest-speaker at many international conferences in Italy and abroad.
