Luiss Business School develops and promotes research in different academic fields with a focus on Strategy and Corporate Renewal, Corporate Governance and Performance Measurement, as well as Innovation and Organization Design<\/strong>. The research is grounded in knowledge of business processes and corporate environments and covers emergent key areas, such as Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability<\/strong>. Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability Hub<\/strong> (ERShub) has been created within the Luiss Business School and the Business and Management Department to give value to ethics, responsibility and sustainability in management education and in economic action in general. ERShub promotes the idea that an ethical, responsible, and sustainable approach in doing business is instrumental to achieving significant and long lasting economic results while allowing to properly interpret the today’s world dynamics and the global challenges characterizing it.<\/p>\n

A campus in the heart of Rome<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Luiss Business School is a top-level Business school in the world heritage city of Rome, where beauty, history and culture provide an amazing environment. From January 9 2017<\/strong> the School activities are hosted in the new campus of Villa Blanc<\/strong>. The new location \u2013\u00a0 on Via Nomentana 216 Rome \u2013 is the result of an important restructuring process conducted by Luiss \u201cGuido Carli\u201d University<\/strong> with the aim to restore its original beauty.<\/p>\n

The architectural jewel of the 19th century was built according to the wishes of Baron Alberto Blanc, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Crispi,\u2019s Cabinet. The campus will ensure students a unique learning experience thanks to the digital technologies<\/strong> offered combined with the prestigious historical setting<\/strong>. The location is formed by a main villa, six smaller villas and conservatories with typical Mediterranean plants set in a vast park.<\/p>\n

The School is situated in one of the most remarkable, historic and artistic parts of Rome and its buildings mirror the atmosphere and the beauty of the city.<\/p>\n

\n

History of the School<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1966<\/strong> \u2013 Pro Deo University was founded, obtaining official recognition from the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research in 1966.<\/p>\n

1977<\/strong> \u2013 Pro Deo University officially changed its name to Luiss \u2013 Libera Universit\u00e0 Internazionale degli Studi Sociali.<\/p>\n

1982<\/strong> \u2013 Adding to its Faculty of Economics the Faculty of Political Science, Luiss also founded the Faculty of Law.<\/p>\n

1984<\/strong> \u2013 The Chairman of the Confederation of Italian Industries (Confindustria), Guido Carli, was appointed President of Luiss. Under his leadership, LUISS reinforced its mission by introducing highly selective admission standards, a new set of degree programmes, and a wide range of customised programme services.<\/p>\n

1986<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss School of Management was founded<\/strong> (renamed Luiss Business School in 2006) as a division of the University, delivering post- graduate experience education.<\/p>\n

1991<\/strong> \u2013 The School of Management successfully launched its first MBA programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

1995<\/strong> \u2013 The first PhD programme was launched in the areas of Management, Corporate Finance, Organisation, and Human Resources.<\/p>\n

2001<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss implemented the European Higher Education Area guidelines, following the Bologna Process.<\/p>\n

2006<\/strong> \u2013 The first double-degree programme was launched in cooperation with Fudan University School of Management.<\/p>\n

2007<\/strong> \u2013 The different PhD tracks were combined into one PhD in Management. The programme began to be taught fully in English, which was uncommon in Italy at that time.<\/p>\n

2007<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss received the Golden BIP award, recognising the institution as Italy\u2019s Best University and honoring its excellence in securing job placements for graduates.<\/p>\n

2009<\/strong> \u2013 The Luiss Creative Business Centre was founded<\/strong>, which develops programmes and courses in the areas of art, film, entertainment, music, and design.<\/p>\n

2010<\/strong> \u2013 Entrepreneurship was designated as a core element of the School\u2019s strategy and made an integrating part of all aspects of business and management education, as well as research.<\/p>\n

2011<\/strong> \u2013 The existing structure of faculties and departments was replaced by four new departments: Law, Political Sciences, Economics and Finance, and Business and Management (DBM).<\/p>\n

2012<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss EnLabs, one of Italy\u2019s most innovative incubators and business accelerators, was opened.<\/p>\n

2013<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss Business School and the DBM are part of the Luiss School of Business and Management.<\/p>\n

2015<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss Business School, including the Department of Business and Management, becomes part of the \u00e9lite of education having achieved the prestigious international certification EQUIS<\/strong>. A one of a kind result. It is the first time that a School in Italy manages to validate all of its management programs, from the Bachelor Degree \u2013 already widely distinguished for its elevated selection standards- to the Master in Business Administration, together with the master degrees, the PHDs, the Specialised masters etc.<\/p>\n

2015<\/strong> \u2013 AACSB membership.<\/p>\n

April 2016<\/strong> \u2013 Luiss Business School\u2019s new governance structure was put in place. Activities of the Luiss School of Business and Management were incorporated into the School.<\/p>\n
