The theme of this year\u2019s Ericsson Innovation Awards Competition is the <strong>Future of food<\/strong> and it is based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/about-us\/sustainability-and-corporate-responsibility\/sustainable-development-goals\" target=\"_blank\">UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since the global population is expected to reach 9.6 billion by 2050, demand on our planet\u2019s resources are rapidly increasing. Ensuring that <strong>world food production<\/strong> and consumption are sufficient and <strong>sustainable<\/strong> is a major commitment.<\/p>\n<p>This competition aims to challenges students to develop an idea for generating a positive impact in the future of food using <strong>technological innovations<\/strong>. ICT is helping to reduce material consumption and energy use and it also supports the reuse and sharing of products and goods: how can ICT contribute to the future of food, improving lives and the health of our planet?<\/p>\n<p>Join the competition and submit your idea <strong>by March 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/ericsson.recsolu.com\/external\/requisitions\/awGzLYv4rK0tZunXuq-jlQ\" target=\"_blank\">SUBMISSION<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Dates to remember<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>January 9 \u2013 March 14<\/strong>: Phase 1 \u2013 Register your team and submit your idea.<\/li>\n<li><strong>March 22 \u2013 March 30<\/strong>: Ericsson jury evaluation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>March 31<\/strong>: Semi-finalists announcement. 10 team announced to go to semi-finals and receive mentorship from Ericsson Experts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>April 3 \u2013 April 28<\/strong>: Phase 2 \u2013 Collaboration and mentorship from Ericsson Experts to create a minimum viable product and submit to semi-finalist judging.<\/li>\n<li><strong>April 28<\/strong>: Semi-finalists submissions due.<\/li>\n<li><strong>May 12<\/strong>: Finalists announced.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TBA June<\/strong>: Final presentations and awards event.
