Data are not information, information is not knowledge, but data are a strategic asset to achieve greater knowledge and therefore better governance of one’s business. This short sentence encapsulates the principle inspiring this program.
Datasets and data lakes are today instrumental to massive analysis prospecting scenarios, detecting trends and risks mapping potential, and obtaining objective and cumulative information to share with partners and stakeholders. The essential role played by data in the business and governmental sectors calls for a responsible, aware, highly skillful and multi-partnership approach to the data-business-governance chain.
This lab starts with an overview of the European and international scene, moves on to examine case studies highlighting the critical sides of the “chain” and then uses role play to design a data governance mechanism based on transparency, ethical responsibility and adaptability. The training methodology constitutes one of the practical takeways of the program.
At the end participants will be able to design a reliable data governance mechanism in their own organizations and institutions and to partner, through such a design, with stakeholders and shareholders in view of a massive use of data and the reliability of those data.
This lab progresses from theory to practice. The main takeaway consists of a toolkit and a methodology to set up a data governance mechanism within the context where the participants operate.
