Overview
The Major in Open Social Innovation is specialized by the combination of approaches in the field of strategic management and innovation policy design coming from private, public and the third sector organizations operations. The combination of multidisciplinary knowledge and multi-sectoral experiences coming from the international experts involved is crucial to operate in the field of impact economy and in the broader sector of the social economy, aspects connected to the priorities of international agendas leading the evolution of innovation ecosystems across the world.
Objectives
The master aims to generate new generation of managers and leader able to assist financial institutions, government bodies and international organizations, Philanthropies, NGOs and Corporations in designing social innovation programs in different industrial sectors: addressing the identification of problems; opportunities and challenges of national and regional ecosystems; managing the achievement of financial solutions and intangible resources in collaboration with different stakeholders and institutions; experimenting entrepreneurial programs and co-production initiatives through strategic partnerships; evaluating and communicating the impact and the performances delivered by programs, funds and/or specific organizations.
Target Audience
The Master is aimed at professionals with an undergraduate degree and a significant work experience in any field, who want to acquire effective capabilities in Open and Social Innovation.

- Private companies’ managers operating within ESG and impact economy frameworks, including managers and entrepreneurs active in the field of R&D for business incubation and acceleration
- Heads of corporate social responsibility, sustainability and external relations, business development units of corporations, firms, foundations and investment funds with specific interest on open and social innovation activities
- Technology transfer experts and innovation managers, including employees of the technology transfer offices (TTO) of universities and research centres.
- Third sector managers and entrepreneurs
- Public administration officials and executives working in the economic development, urban innovation and social policy sector
- Independent professionals, applied Researchers, service designers and facilitators working across consultancies, universities and research centres
Diploma and ECTS
Executive Master in Innovation & Sustainability – Major in Open Social Innovation is a Second-level Degree Programme, classified as a third cycle qualification/EQF level 8, in accordance with the Bologna process.
It is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education as a “Master Universitario di Secondo Livello and provides students with at least 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).
The Master’s Diploma and ECTS will be awarded to participants who have passed all mandatory exams and assessment tests.
