Alessandra is President of ENIT SpA, the Italian Tourism Board, where she leads the Board of Directors, defines strategy, and represents Italy abroad. An economist with extensive international and diplomatic experience, she was the first woman and first Italian to serve as Director for Europe at the UN Tourism Agency, overseeing its largest region with 43 Member States and 51% of the global market. During her tenure, she introduced innovative projects, strengthened global private sector engagement, and guided the agency through the COVID-19 crisis by launching key initiatives like the Global Tourism Crisis Committee and the #RestartTourism campaign from Rome.
A graduate of Bocconi University with two Master’s degrees—including an Executive MBA from Luiss—she is fluent in six languages. From 2010 to 2015, she led a diplomatic mission in the Gulf to promote Italy’s cultural and educational heritage. Returning to Italy, she helped relaunch national tourism policy, contributed to governance reforms and the 2017–2020 strategic plan, and held senior roles at MiPAAFT.
She has published widely, teaches at Luiss Business School, and is a Research Fellow at Luiss’s Corporate Strategy Research Center. She has positioned Italy at the forefront of international tourism platforms and remains committed to public service and global cooperation.
