Senior Advisor - National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
Mr. Paolo Messa, an Adjunct Faculty Member at Luiss Business School, is a Nonresident Senior Fellow of the Europe Center the the Atlantic Council, one of Washington, DC’s most influential think tanks. He also serves as Senior Advisor of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF).
Paolo earned an M.A. in Political Sciences from the University of Bari, where he studied, among other things, the History of the United States, focusing on presidential electoral campaigns. In 2018, he published his last book, “The Age of Sharp Power”, analyzing the hybrid threats from international actors such as China, Russia, and Iran.
Expert on National Security and Geostrategic Relations, Paolo Messa has been Executive Vice President of Leonardo and Chairman of its branch in the United States. He was a board member of Rai and Conai and Executive Director of the Center for American Studies in Italy. Most notably, he founded the media outlet “Formiche” and is the author of several books and op-eds published in Italian and English.
