Advancing an interdisciplinary Perspective in IB and Strategy

Hosted by Luiss Business School, Rome, in collaboration with WU Vienna University of Economics and Business April 18-19, 2023 Research on International Business (IB) and Strategy is interconnected in many ways. Yet, both disciplines’ discussions can be quite separated and conceptual as well as methodological knowledge does not necessarily transcend disciplinary boundaries easily. To overcome this, we invite researchers to a joint paper development workshop at the intersection of IB and Strategy. The aim of this Paper Development Workshop is to create an interactive forum for both IB and strategy researchers. The workshop is designed to connect junior as well as senior scholars in both disciplines and to provide learning and development opportunities. We also encourage contributions from Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship as long as the contributions connect with current academic discussions in strategy and/or IB. The event is co-organized and by the Institute for International Business at WU (Chair Prof. Nell), where it is embedded in the Headquarters in Austria project (HiA), and Luiss Business School. Open Innovation: Where we have been and where we are going

The key speaker of this event is Professor Henry Chesbrough, in the 2% of the top business Scholars in the world, and the very creator of the term “Open Innovation”. Executive International Week - Amsterdam Hub

From 17th to 20th of October, the first Executive International Week took place at the Luiss Business School Amsterdam Hub, in partnership with the global airline alliance SkyTeam. A great opportunity for our students to analyze in depth the aviation industry, understanding the complexity that this sector is facing due to post-COVID repercussions and its impact on global airlines strategies. During this intense experience, participants had the opportunity to visit the KLM Engineering and Maintenance headquarter in Schiphol Airport, taking part to debates about the aviation industry changes. At the conclusion of the event, students presented their Project Works about the business case launched by SkyTeam. The challenge addressed the phenomenon of alliances and consolidation in the air transport landscape, observing the evolution of SkyTeam in responding to different factors such as growing global competition, different regulations and market structure. 21/10/2022
