He graduated cum laude in Economics and Business at Luiss University, is an Italian CPA, and is registered as Revisore Legale. He is an Adjunct Professor of Planning and Control at Luiss and an Adjunct Faculty Member at Luiss Business School, where he directs the major in Corporate Finance and teaches various courses. Since 1989, he has held professorships in Planning, Control, and Finance at Luiss.
As Past President of the Italian Trade Agency (2019-2022), he modernized its organization and services. Former President for Finance, Legal, Infrastructure, and Services and CFO of STMicroelectronics NV (1999-2018), he has served the company as Group CFO, President of ST Italy, CEO of ST-Ericsson SA, achieving a 10.6% annual total shareholders’ return. He closed 26 M&A deals and 6 capital market offerings, raising over $6 billion.
With over 30 years of international governance experience in 31 companies across 7 countries, he has held various roles including Chairman, board member, and statutory auditor. He has been Vice-President of Assolombarda, an advisor to the EU Commission i n the forum for IPCEI, and an author of several publications. He also writes the “Notepad” column for Economy magazine.
