After 20 years of experience in the C-suite of multinational technology corporations, he currently serves as a board director, university professor and international senior advisor.

He is a member of the Board of Directors and of the Sustainability and innovation Committee of Fiera di Milano SpA.

He is adjunct Professor of Planning and Control in MSc programme in Administration, Finance and Control at LUISS Guido Carli University and Adjunct Faculty Member at LUISS Business School, where he serves as Scientific Director of the Corporate Finance major and teaches courses in accounting, management control and corporate finance. He has been teaching since 1989, holding appointments in Management Control, Corporate Planning and Advanced Finance at Luiss University, as well as Strategy for Emerging Technology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore A. Gemelli.

From 2019 to 2022, he served the Italian Government as a civil servant as President of the Italian Trade Agency, where he modernized the organization and its business support services, contributing to record export performance by Italian SMEs during his tenure.

Previously, he served as President for Finance, Legal, Infrastructure and Services and Chief Financial Officer of STMicroelectronics. Between 1999 and 2018, he held several senior executive positions within STM, including Group CFO, Chairman of ST (Italy) Srl, and CEO of ST-Ericsson, contributing to an average annual total shareholder return of 10.6%. During his executive career, he completed 26 M&A transactions and 6 capital market offerings raising over $6 billion.

He has more than 30 years of international governance experience across 32 companies in seven countries.

He previously served as Vice President of Assolombarda, member of the Advisory Board of Foreign Companies and various technical committees of Confindustria, as well as advisor of the European Commission, within the IPCEI Forum.

He graduated summa cum laude in Economics and Business Administration from LUISS Guido Carli university and is a Chartered Public Accountant.

He is the author of “Pianificazione e Controllo, eseguire la strategia per creare valore” (LUP,2021) and editor of “Fisco Impresa e Crescita” (Assolombarda, 2018). He also writes the Notepad column for the monthly magazine Economy.
