Full Professor of Corporate Finance, Mercatorum University of Rome

Alberto Dell’Acqua is Director of the Milan Hub of the Luiss Business School and Full Professor of Corporate Finance at Mercatorum University in Rome since 2024. He has over 20 years of academic experience, having taught at national and international universities and business schools, including: SDA Bocconi School of Management, where he served as Director of the Master in Corporate Finance (MCF) and Co-Director of the Executive Master in Corporate Finance & Banking (EMCFB); Università Commerciale L. Bocconi, where he taught corporate and market finance in undergraduate and graduate programs; Libera Università del Mediterraneo Giuseppe De Gennaro, where he taught corporate finance in undergraduate and graduate programs; École supérieure des affaires (ESA) in Beirut (Lebanon), where he taught the Executive Master in Financial Management; American University of Bulgaria (AUBG) in Sofia, where he taught in the Executive Master in Corporate Finance and Real Estate; University of Benghazi (Libya), where he taught in the Executive Master in Finance; and University of Technology in Sydney (Australia), where he conducted research as a Visiting Research Fellow. He has also conducted numerous research projects commissioned by some of Italy’s most respected economic associations and institutions (Confindustria, the Chamber of Commerce, and trade associations). His research focuses on corporate finance, private equity and venture capital, and corporate governance. He has authored numerous essays and articles on his topics, and his work has been published in international journals such as European Financial Management, Business Strategy & the Environment, Corporate Governance International Journal of Business in Society, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Applied Financial Economics, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, and Eurasian Business Review.

 He earned a degree in Business Administration with honors from Bocconi University and a PhD in Corporate Finance from the University of Trieste. He has completed specialization and professional development courses at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Imperial College London.

He has served and continues to serve on the boards of directors of publicly traded industrial, commercial, and service companies, both public and private. He is a member of the CNDCEC Study Commission “Valuation for Financial Reporting” He has held positions in non-profit foundations and, previously, has served as a consultant and member of ministerial committees (activities performed pro bono). He is an active mentor for start-ups, including international ones.
