Claudio Carpano is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Management at The University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Honorary Consul of Italy to the State of North Carolina. At the Belk College of Business at UNCC, he was the Director of International Business Graduate Programs and taught international management and strategic management. At present, he is the CEO of RAASM USA, Inc., a leading manufacturer of fluid management systems, CEO of Comi Polaris Systems, Inc., and president of Management inSites (MI). MI is an international management consulting firm that has been operating in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2000. MI consultants and professional staff provide marketing and international management consulting services to both U.S. and non-U.S. companies. In addition, the company provides back-office support services to foreign companies establishing operations in the U.S. Professor Carpano has delivered executive seminars and lectured at a variety of universities. Some of these include; the American University in Washington DC, the University of South Carolina, Montclair State University, Bocconi University (Italy), the University of Torino (Italy), Luiss Business School (Italy), EGADE – Monterrey Tec (Mexico), Universidad de Desarrollo (Chile), and QUT (Australia). His research on the topics of international business strategy, organizational structure, and foreign direct investment has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of Business Ethics, which Financial Times has listed among the forty most influential scientific business journals. In addition, his articles have been published in Italy by QualeImpresa and L’Imprenditore (two journals published by the CONFINDUSTRIA – the Association of Italian Industrialists), and Tempo Economico.
