Maria Elena Cavallaro is Associate Professor of History of International Relations at the Department of Political Science. She obtained her PhD at the University of Bologna. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Mediterranean Studies Centre at the New York University and a Santander Scholar at St. Antony’s College – in Oxford. Her main research interests are: European integration of Southern Europe in the Seventies and Eighties; European Socialism in transnational perspective; the history of the European Commission; and Radical Right Parties Policies in a comparative perspective. Among her latest publications there is Rethinking democratization in Spain, Greece and Portugal (con K. Kornetis), Palgrave MacMillan, Baningstoke 2019.
