Requirements
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to academic and applied research and teaching and the aspiration to contribute to Luiss Business School’s international expansion and visibility. Since the progress of ICTs (Information Communication Technologies), relevant aspect of our lives, has been invaded by the digital mode, starting with work and production, then going from health to personal and social relationships, including feelings, education and the sphere of leisure, ICTs have been studied not only from the point of view of science and its applications but also from the point of view of their ethical, social, political, ontological and theological impact. The profile that we are looking for is that of a scholar who works on the impact of ICTs in the light of a basic technical-scientific competence on Artificial Intelligence.
Candidates must hold a PhD from a leading university, have teaching experience and a relevant record of publications and/or research projects.
Ideal candidates will show a passionate drive to engage in the overall Luiss University’s dynamic and stimulating academic environment and contribute to its further development. They will have research experience on, and intend to pursue research projects in one or more of the following fields of Moral Philosophy and ICTs:
- the ability to think systematically about public ethics in the context of Artificial Intelligence
- expertise in business ethics and business theory
- expertise and experience in bioethics and the ethics of science
- expertise in innovation in health and ethical management of innovation in medicine
- relationships and working experience with companies working in and with the digital domain
- experience in national and international panels for regulation and strategic direction of ICTs and Artificial Intelligence innovation
- significant study and research relationships at international level.
They will be able to teach and publish in English.
Role and Responsibilities
The Full Professor of Ethics and Artificial Intelligence is expected to undertake teaching, service activities and rigorous and innovative research in their field(s) of interest and providing academic assistance or leadership in the School’s program. They are also expected to contribute to the collegial and intellectual life of the School and of the Luiss community at large.
The position offers the opportunity to teach and do research in a privileged environment. Teaching load according to Luiss Business School standards. The candidate will also be asked to take the responsibility of managing one academic program.
Teaching can be either in English, Italian or both. The position holder will also supervise master’s dissertations, project works and courses graduation. Appointments are full-time and the salary is competitive.
