Dominik Damast is an Assistant Professor. Previously, he was a PhD student in Economics at the University of Bonn, where his main advisor was Farzad Saidi.

In his research, he employs both empirical and theoretical methods to investigate the role of insurers in financial markets. Specifically, he studies the drivers behind insurance companies’ investment behavior, their interactions with other financial institutions, and how shocks to insurance markets are transmitted to other parts of the financial system. He is also interested in the impact of climate risks on asset prices and institutional investors.
