The Credential Evaluation Office evaluates international degrees to determine eligibility for admission to the postgraduate program.
For this reason, please remember that:
- the Master Universitario di I livello is a 2nd cycle specialization course and it is a fundamental entry requirement to hold a Laurea Triennale or a comparable international degree;
- the Master Universitario di II livello is a 3rd cycle specialization course and it is a fundamental entry requirement to hold a Laurea Magistrale, Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento or a comparable international degree.
The Credential Evaluation Office independently evaluates the suitability of the entrance qualification for admission to the postgraduate degree program, in accordance with Articles 2 and 3 of Law 148/2002. This evaluation includes the determination of assessment criteria and the identification of required documentation for admission.
Candidates holding an international degree are required to submit the following documents during application:
- Diploma (in original language and English);
- Final transcript of grades (in English);
- Declaration in lieu of certification;
- Diploma supplement (if available, strongly recommended).
Luiss Business School reserves the right to request additional documentation, if necessary.
According to CIMEA’s new instructions, the correspondence of the qualification will be automatic for students holding an international degree obtained in one of the 55 countries that signed the Lisbon Convention. The Credential Evaluations Office will download the Certificate of Correspondence of the candidate’s foreign degree directly from the Automatic Recognition Database: https://ardi.cimea.it/it. This tool allows these students to access an automatic match of their qualification without requiring comparability.
On the contrary, candidates holding an international degree obtained in a country that didn’t sign the Lisbon Convention, will be asked to submit the Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA, the Italian NARIC center for the recognition of foreign qualifications in Italy, after successfully passing the admission test.
The comparability shows the level of the international qualification in reference to the cycles of the Bologna Process and the levels of the EQF (European Qualifications Framework).
CIMEA is an external service and delivery times may vary. While waiting to receive this statement, the candidate will be able to finalize the enrolment and reserve his/her place in the classroom by demonstrating that they have started the procedure through CIMEA. Enrollment will be considered “conditional” until the Credential Evaluations Office receives the above-mentioned document.
The CIMEA service can be used through the DiploMe portal, accessible at the following link https://cimea-diplome.it/
