Rosario Cerra is a strategic consultant and business leader, recognized as one of Italy’s leading figures in innovation, the digital economy, and geopolitics. He is the Founder and President of the Centro Economia Digitale (Center for Digital Economy) and currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Avantime.
As President of the Centro Economia Digitale (CED), he leads the independent think tank he founded in 2017 with the support of the top leadership of the Economics faculties of Luiss, Sapienza, Tor Vergata, and Roma Tre universities. The Center produces scientific research, econometric analyses, and policy proposals on technological and digital innovation, which are shared with institutional and government leaders in Italy and across Europe. It boasts strategic partnerships with global and national leaders in high-tech sectors such as AWS, Enel, Eni, Google, Microsoft, Terna .
As Chairman and CEO of Avantime, he leads a company that supports major private and public organizations in strategic transformation processes, operating in management consulting, operations, and corporate finance for high-impact innovative initiatives.
His professional journey includes founding ABCapital in 2003, later becoming I Capital, a group where he served as Chairman & CEO until 2025.
He has acted as an advisor on strategy and execution across various industries, collaborating with global and national leaders—including, in addition to the CED’s strategic partners, Deutsche Bank, Generali, Leonardo, Mastercard and Shell, amongst others. In parallel, he has worked with public institutions such as Chambers of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, and major trade associations including CISL, CNA, Confcommercio, and Confindustria.
His research and analytical work are reflected in a prolific body of scientific and essay publications, making him a respected commentator for national and international media outlets.
