The CEO of the fashion hub comprising 120% Lino, Dondup and Rosantica was the main guest of the new Leader 4 Talent with students at the Milan Hub Luiss Business School

Mauro Grange loves starting companies from scratch. He is the CEO of the fashion hub comprising 120% Lino, Dondup and Rosantica and keeps investing in Italy because he loves his country. But by telling the story of his career, Grange underlines that times are changed and it’s time to look for future throughout the world. Mauro Grange was the latest guest of Leader 4 Talent. Hosted in Milan Hub Luiss Business School, he met masters’ students and give some piece of advice.

From sales manager to CEO

Mauro Grange started his career studying engineering because of his family’s will. But he realized soon that it wasn’t the right choice for him. He became a sales manager for Olivetti tackling several steps inside the company. Then he switched to Swatch thanks to Franco Bosisio. But in 2004 he started a new adventure with a startup: Omnitel, the same company that would become Vodafone. Starting a company from scratch charms Grange, who kept on creating new companies, defining strategies and falling in love with new products and ideas. He launched H3G who would become 3 Italia among the others. This kind of business traced himself as one of the Italian top manager in communication.
In 2006 he launched a startup in audio sector building a group in the United States worth 100 million euro. The group was sold in 2014 for 150 million. He is currently CEO of the fashion hub comprising 120% Lino, Dondup and Rosantica.
“I’ve seen any face of a company, and I can tell that the story you tell about a product is more important than the product itself”, said Grange.

Skills to face hard times

From Grange’s point of view the main skill to face hard times is to foresee the future. “Nowadays the most important thing is to be able to predict where the world is going”. Looking at his own experience with startups, it’s very important to start a company from scratch. “You can trace your own strategy.

Advice to students

In the end of his inspiring speech, Grange gave also some advice to students. “First of all, be brave and nurture your vision. Also, once you choose a business, you must spread it to a global level. Italy is not enogh”.
