The students of the UIBM-WIPO- LUISS Business School Specialised Course in IP Management and Valuation have recently attended a full-immersion week of practical sessions on “International IP Granting Procedures”.
Experts from the Italian Patent and Trademark Office Alessandro De Parolis, Lino Fannella, Massimiliano Bruno, Michele Mille and Enrico Luzzatto from the European Patent Office have brought real cases and practical examples on how to seek protection for inventions and trademarks at the Italian Patent Office and for inventions at the European Patent Office, respectively.
Moreover, IP lawyers, Mario Pozzi of Rödl & Partner (Milan), Domenico Anacleto of Trevisan & Cuonzo Avvocati (Bari and Milan) and Lucia Antonazzi of Bird & Bird (Rome) have challenged the students with discussion on real infringement cases of trademarks, therefore explaining which judicial tools are available to protect trademark and other distinctive sign after the filing of an application.
The full-immersion week was finalized with a mock trial on trademark infringement case, which made the students acting the role of either plaintiff, defendant and judge.
