Managers, athletes, coaches and technical staff met at the event “Sports and Project Management” organized by LUISS Business School and ISIPM (Italian Institute of Project Management) and chaired by Paolo de Laurentiis  on 25 September 2015.
An amazing and involving meeting. Gregorio Paltrinieri (World Champion for the 1,500 meters freestyle Swimming); Giovanni Coccoluto (FIV, Laser Class, Sport Group Fiamme Gialle); Roberto Cammarelle (Olympic Gold Medal – Boxing – Beijing 2008); Larissa Nevierov (World Gold Medal 1998) revealed their secrets and their emotions. Cammarelle said: “In London, I lost the gold medal, and felt really bad about it. Since then I learned to accept the verdict without feeling defeated, I feel proud to have represented Italy”.
Great lessons about the sport values and interesting insights on the relationship between SPORT and Project Management.
The sport manager is matter-of-fact a key figure both during the athlete’s transition towards the highest categories, and consecutively during the management of his activity. Therefore, Project Management is an essential field which can provide fundamental skills even for sports management. Participants showed their appreciation of the meeting through an intense exchange of ideas and questions.
