Matteo Caroli was born in Milan in 1963; He graduated in Economics & Business at Luiss University in 1987 and specialised in Management at the Sloan School of Management at MIT, Boston. Since 2001 he is Professor of International Business Management at the Faculty of Economics.
From 2017 to 2019 he has been Associate Dean for Executive Education at Luiss Business School and since 2020, he is Associate Dean for internationalisation. Since 2021, is the head of the Business Unit “Applied research and observatories” at the Luiss Business School. His fields of research are in the area of business management, specifically focusing on sustainability management, circular business modelling, competitive strategies and internationalization. He has been a member of the board of private companies as well as public organizations. He has been a speaker at many national and international conferences.
